Drill Bits
Carbide-tipped brad point, V-point and hinge boring bits for boring machines and drill banks, all with a 10 mm shank. Brad point drills cut clean blind holes and dowel holes, V-point drills cut through holes, and hinge boring bits (hinge drill bits) bore the cup holes for concealed hinges. All three come in left-hand and right-hand rotation.
Which drill bit for which hole
| Drill bit | Hole | Diameters | Overall lengths |
|---|---|---|---|
| Brad Point Drills | Blind holes and dowel holes, with a clean entry | 3 to 25 mm | 57, 70 and 77 mm |
| V-Point Drills | Through holes, with less breakout where the drill exits | 3 to 19 mm | 58, 70 and 77 mm |
| Hinge Boring Bits | Cup holes for concealed hinges | 15 to 40 mm | 57 and 70 mm |
Left hand or right hand
The hand is the direction of rotation a bit is made for. Choose the hand that matches the spindle the bit goes in. On a multi-spindle head, neighboring spindles can turn in opposite directions, so check the rotation of each spindle.
Shank and sizes
Brad point, V-point and hinge boring bits all have a 10 mm shank. Sizes are in millimeters, and some product names also give the inch size, for example 6.35 mm (1/4"). Their left-hand and right-hand pages list the bits from smallest to largest.
