Dust Seals & Covers
Keep dust out of your collets. Internal dust seals snap inside a PowerCOAT dust seal nut before you fit the collet, and external dust covers slide onto the tool shank. Both save time cleaning collets and help your collets last longer.
Internal dust seals
Choose the seal by ER size and tool shank. Each seal covers a 0.5 mm shank range, and its inch size is listed too: for example ER32 6.5-6.0mm fits a 1/4" shank. Use them with the ER16 to ER40 dust seal nuts on Collet Nuts.

External dust covers
Dust covers fit 1/4" to 3/4" tool shanks, single or in packs of 5, and as a set with one each of 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4". They work with ER25, ER32, ER40, SYOZ25, TG75 and TG100 collets and Shoda new style and old style collets, and help keep runout (T.I.R.) low.
- Slide the dust cover onto the tool shank from the bottom. Never slide it over the cutting edges.
- Fit the tool into the collet and nut.
- Fit the assembly into the holder and tighten the nut to the right torque with a torque wrench.
